Manufacturer's Global Mission to Support US Suppliers

Altus has a global mission to benefit the healthcare, education and office facilities we have the opportunity to work with. Since our founding in 2001 to create adjustable workstations, we’ve made working with American suppliers an effort that is an integral part of our operations.

Altus’ Supports US Suppliers

Many of Altus' medical equipment suppliers are located in the Midwest and a handful we’ve worked with over 15+ years. Our worksurfaces and plastic and electrical components are some of the materials we locally source. We use a handful of US metal fabricators and companies that offer zinc plating and powder coating services.

The ability to collaborate in person

It’s not odd for a supplier to stop by our headquarters in Grand Rapids, MI to bring over a paint chip to make sure it’s perfect. Or for an Altus team member to go to one of our suppliers' facilities to watch them run the first piece and provide approval in real-time.

If a customer wants a computer cart on wheels with storage, it's easy to hop on over to our local suppliers and find the best accessory for our customer's workflow. If they want to try out another set of computer cart wheels, we are able to find the most durable and smooth casters and try it for ourselves before we send it to the customer.

We can be there in person and that’s powerful. It drastically cuts down on product development and lead time.

Access to shorter transit time

A component can leave their dock and show up on Altus’ dock 1-2 days later. Overseas it could take 5-6 weeks for a container to be delivered. And it’s more expensive. We avoid passing that additional cost to the consumer.
