Altus Delivers 100 Medical Carts to NYC Hospital Amid COVID-19

As COVID-19 becomes widespread across the globe, the need for patient care has increased and personal protection and medical equipment, including carts, are in high demand. Below is a customer case study showcasing how Altus was there for our customers by delivering 100 medical carts to an NYC hospital during COVID-19.

The National Epicenter of COVID-19

Since early March, hospitals across New York City have raced to save lives at the national epicenter of the coronavirus pandemic. The demand from the high number of COVID-19 cases is taking a toll on hospitals. Resources such as space, personal protection equipment (PPE), and medical equipment have become scarce.

Large NYC Hospital in Need

One of the largest health care systems in the New York metropolitan area needed to quickly acquire the necessary equipment to meet rising COVID-19 patients. The under-equipped health system wanted to accomplish this goal by sourcing and providing reliable workstations for its clinicians.

The organization reached out to Altus who was able to quickly turnaround 100 powered carts that they quickly dispersed throughout the health system. Within 5 business days, Altus was able to build and deliver these carts to the frontlines of the crisis in New York. Using these workstations, clinicians were able to document EHRs near the patient bedside and keep up with patient demand.

Ventilator Cart

Altus began production of ventilator carts to help address the critical shortage of this vital medical equipment in the face of the COVID-19 global pandemic. The ventilator cart can support various ventilators and their respective workflows.

Engineered to adapt to each hospital's unique workflow, the cart can be built with a front or rear basket, shelf, IV pole, heavy-duty casters and other necessary accessories. Manufactured in the U.S., the ventilator cart ships fully assembled for immediate use.

Telehealth Cart

In just a few weeks, Altus launched a telehealth cart to support virtual appointments to reduce the risk of spreading the virus and a virtual visitor stand so patients could still be with their loved ones while admitted.
